Raising our spirits, at Chessington Garden Centre, this Halloween

Well, the clocks went back this weekend and it seems that no-one told the boys… so we’ve been up since 3am two days in a row now! Yawn!

Today is Halloween – and I certainly look the part! No costume required. ğŸ˜±ğŸŽƒ A fright night look, inspired by Night of the Living Dead. Thank goodness for Littles’ Island Coconut Coffee and Alpro Coconut Milk. Guzzling it by the bucketload this week while I pretend that I’m somewhere far far away, 🌴 🌴 🌴 somewhere where this is the actual time zone, perhaps? Where nothing matters because we’re on island time. 😂

To get out of the house and do something a bit different, we spent this afternoon at Chessington Garden Centre, and I took the boys to experience the Spooky Zoo. To say that they loved it would be an understatement. Big brother grinned from ear to ear throughout and Little brother had to be physically restrained when each animal appeared – he so wanted to follow in his brother’s footsteps…

They met two Bearded Dragons, two small snakes, an enormous python, two giant tortoises and a crocodile! Big Brother touched and stroked them all, although proudly told me that he had stayed away from the sharp end of the crocodile! I was amazed and astounded by his bravery all at once. This is the boy who won’t touch a dog… It’s possibly the best £4.50 I’ve ever spent and all in support of the wonderful charity DEBRA.  We took part in the Spiderweb hunt too and enjoyed a spooky twist on the chocolate brownie in the cafe. Yum!!

We also had the option to do the Spooky Maze, a Halloween Tea and the Spooky Circus this afternoon, but instead spent time in the Christmas department, much to the boys’ delight.

I know it’s early, but I absolutely love Christmas ğŸŽ„ and couldn’t resist buying a small decoration for the tree today… Feeling festive and already looking forward to meeting the big man himself in December. Last year’s Christmas experience here completely blew our socks off and this year we literally cannot wait to see the Charlie & the Chocolate 🍫 Factory themed winter wonderland. Chessington Garden Centre does it so incredibly well!

When everyone’s as tired as we were today, it’s easy for things to deteriorate quickly. But Chessington saved us from going stir crazy this afternoon and really raised our spirits.

Happy Halloween!!  ğŸ‘» ğŸŽƒ
